What is INTOPIA? INTOPIA B2B is a PC simulation of Global Business Strategy in the management game format. It provides a pilot experience in running your own international business. Participant executives or students range from 9 to 100+ and are divided into company teams. What is emulated? Focus: MULTINATIONAL CORPORATIONS (MNCs), although you can also be a domestic company, active in one area only, perhaps facing MNC competitors in your home market. Minimum number of companies is 3, maximum 25. Optimal number is 8 to 20. Each company should have 3-6 executives; several users prefer four. In standard runs we assume venture capitalists have invested SF (Swiss Francs) 20 million ($10 million) in each company. However, starting capital may be varied according to quality and credibility of company mission statements, objectives and plans - or even randomly. In standard runs, the regions (operating areas) represented are Brazil, European Union and the U.S., and the hi-tech products involved are microprocessors (chips) and personal computers (PCs). Custom runs provide a range of choice regarding operating areas and Home Office country names, products, and currencies, which may be substituted for the default options. |
